BBC MANCHESTER

MENTOR PROJECT 2009

Job Ref: 576736
Applications Close: Midnight Monday 10th November
Interviews / assessments will be held on Thursday 20th November    Now in its 11th year, the Mentor Project aims to reflect the views and creative ideas of people from local communities that may have felt excluded from the BBC.  It has provided past participants the opportunity to test out their own ideas, learn about the BBC and develop new opportunities working with the BBC or other broadcasters; move on to Further or Higher Education, or in some cases simply provide a useful insight into the Industry and a range of core skills that they’ve chosen to use elsewhere.  At the end of May 2007, agreement for a BBC Development at Salford Quays was reached between BBC and Peel Holdings and approved by BBC Trust. This means that the BBC’s vision to create a state-of-art digital production and broadcasting hub and presence for the BBC in the North of England is now going to become a reality, as MediaCityUK.    The BBC Manchester Mentor Project aims to encourage people in Greater Manchester to become part of that vision,  so there has never been a better time to get involved.  For more details and to apply please click on the following link  http://jobs.bbc.co.uk/fe/tpl_bbc01.asp?newms=jj&id=25327&aid=10281   This will take you to the BBC jobs website.
